Poor Rick Santorum – play nice or be diced, dude.

From http://ontopmag.com/article.aspx?id=9006&MediaType=1&Category=26 I find this poor man Rick Santorum all in a tither over gay folks. He just doesn’t get it. He wants to say anything nasty about gay folks, and nothing nice – and then expects, even demands, gay folks to say nothing back and to sit still and take the mind numbing mush of Santorum and his Church. Too friggin’ bad, dude. You want to be nasty? – treat others as you wish to be treated? You treat people – your fellow citizens – with nasty intent – so screw you. I mean really, the unending gall and chutzpah mingled with hypocrisy of this man is astounding. Here’s the story, with my commentary in Red:

“Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum is using Dan Savage’s comments on ‘Bill Maher’ to raise much-needed campaign cash.

On last week’s edition of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, Savage, a sex advice columnist and gay rights activist, took broad swipes at Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and Santorum, the two most anti-gay candidates in the GOP 2012 presidential field. Why they want to be anti-gay is beyond me, but they can’t expect a free ride over it, nope.

In discussing the recent allegations that Michele Bachmann’s husband, Marcus, seeks to “cure” gay people at his Christian counseling center, Savage said: “You can’t pray away the gay, but you can torture a conflicted closet case to death.”

And when comic Marc Maron said he hopes Mr. Bachmann “takes all that rage that comes from repression and denial into the bedroom with her … and I hope he fucks her angrily, because that’s how I would,” Savage took a swipe at Santorum: “I sometimes think about fucking the shit out of Rick Santorum … I’m up for whipping up some santorum in Santorum.” (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page.)

Savage was referring to Santorum’s so-called Google problem: a definition of “santorum” which links the senator anal sex. Savage helped coin the phrase in 2003, and nearly eight years later it continues to rank high on Google’s search results. I think there should be a site with every name of the anti-gay crusaders, I’m tired of their nonsense – what is a gingrich? Maybe that little crusty stuff around the lips after a little fellatio? hmm

This week, the former Pennsylvania senator started using Savage’s remarks to raise funds. Boy, is that desperate – and instead of seeking peace with gays, he wants to ratchet up his hatchet job on us? Yeesh, talk about indecent and uncivil.

During a Monday appearance on WOR radio’s Steve Malzberg show, Santorum called Savage’s jokes “filth” and accused Savage of attempting to “intimidate” him. Well, yes, we all are Ricky – and we’re also trying to convince you to see the error of your ways. But you’re having none of it. One man’s educational efforts is another man’s intimidation, I guess. We seek to educate you – and you call our efforts intimidation – you got the problem.

“This man has gone out there and tried to destroy my integrity,” Santorum said. “I mean, you’ve heard the whole issue of the Google issue. That’s Dan Savage. You know, it’s the lowest debasement of public discourse. It’s offensive beyond, you know, anything that any public figure in America should tolerate, and the mainstream media laughs about it. They kid about it. They write about it. They say, ‘Oh, Santorum has a Google problem.’” Sir, you have no integrity. Any American who calls for outlawing other American’s existence and pursuit of happiness is, I dare say, rather absent at the integrity table. You heap malicious lies and mad delusions upon gay Americans – you have faith, indeed, ’tis your right – but that faith lacks integrity, which is your problem. And the Supreme Court ruled that saying anything against gays, no matter how horrendous, is perfectly fine – ergo, saying some for us, or against any who say nasty vile things is also perfectly fine – good for goose and gander, indeed. Free speech not just for heteros out to wreck our nerves, but us too, right back at you.

“You stand up against them,” Santorum added, “they will intimidate you, they will use vile things, and the media will applaud them, and you will be ostracized in society. That’s their objective.” Well, well, and here it is a man whom seeks to intimidate gay folks into being straight – saying vile things, and the media applauds them, and you want to ostracize gays not only from society, but by our own families – why, sir, you want our own families to turn against us and ostracize us at the point of law and gun, and incarcerate their own family members – you sir, are a sicko. And it’s your stated objective – why, you big hypocrite!

Santorum also used similar language this week in a fundraising letter to supporters.

“Savage and his perverted sense of humor is the reason why my children cannot Google their father’s name. I took the high road for nearly a decade by not dignifying these mindless attacks, then even defending his 1st Amendment right to spew this filth. And to this day, liberals like Rachel Maddow serve as Savage’s lackeys on national television, pushing his smut.” You sir, have never taken the high road when it comes to gays – you have called us every vile thing in the book, and said that God Himself is against us, and we against Him – you sir, are a snake oil salesman peddling some “family values” that seeks to harass, harangue and hound a member of families. Oh, no sir, you brought this upon yourself – and you will not relent? So we will not relent. Rather simple, eh? Play nice, get nice, play nasty, get nasty. You choose the latter, we’re just born gay.

“That is why I need you support today, and your contribution of $25, $50, $100 or $250,” the letter reads. Hahaha!

Maddow, who is openly lesbian, has discussed Santroum’s Google problem on her nightly MSNBC show, but she isn’t his only critic. No, I don’t believe she is, ahem.

Santorum’s plea for money also neglected to mention his role in the feud, which started in 2003 after he likened gay unions to “man on dog.” Oh, yah, about that, and everything else you ever said about gay folks – apologies in order to all gay Americans, no? If not, well, then, let the games begin.

END

And here’s another article on this Santorum fellow’s whining about how we talk about him, to just really lay it on thick, for the man lashed out at Texas Governor Rick Perry, no friend of gays as I posted just yesterday, for daring to say New York State was nice to allow gays to marry — is Santorum that wedded to Federal power that he wants the first ever laws and constitutional amendments against gay people as a very special class of people? He’s a theocrat ready to do the Pope’s bidding. And he thinks we’re going to give him a free ride? To suffer his nonsense? Hahaha!:

Not to mention, www.spreadingsantorum.com – oh the brilliance. Be nice, Rick, and we’ll treat you nice. Call us evil, which we are not — and call for the power of the state we pay for to be used against us then we will call you evil, for you are.
